About me
Navjot S Pawera
Born: 9th January, 1983, India
Presently: Took a month long break from work after I left CueBlocks, and then joined the Opera team here in Chandigarh. Working as a “Web Evangelist” - had always found that word “evangelist” uber cool, since I heard Greg Rewis of Macromedia call himself a “Technical Evangelist” at a conference. So now with an “uber cool” position with an “uber cool” company, I make my contribution towards making the world a better place to live in (seriously, that’s what I do).
CueBlocks: Completed my Bachelors in Computer Science (Bachelor in Technology) in 2005. Before the party was over, I met Sarthak and Avneet, who were working towards starting a company they had been planning for a long time. A few meetings later, I was a part of the team and the three of us were working to put together CueBlocks. CueBlocks Technologies Pvt Ltd is now a three month old company specializing in Internet Marketing. I held the position of Director, Information Systems and Branding till April 2006.
Bachelor Studies (College): Enrolled myself for the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program in Computer Science (C.Sc) at Punjab Technical University (P.T.U.), India in 2001.I was admitted into Institute of Engineering and Technology (I.E.T),Bhaddal, Ropar. The program took me through subjects such as Operating Systems, Data Structures, Computer System Networking, Microprocessor Architectures, Internet Communication Protocols, Relational Databases and Software Engineering.
In the first semester I joined two of my seniors (both from the 1999 batch, in the 7th semester at that time) to make a website for the college students. I got acquainted with html, Macromedia Dreamweaver and also started working with Macromedia Flash. We completed the website www.ietbugs.com (Institute of Engineering and Technology, Bhaddal - Under Graduate Students > IETBUGS). The website was inaugurated at the 2002 annual function and stayed online for 2 years.
I designed and managed the theme and identity for the college annual functions and the annual college fete “E-Blaze” for three years (2002-2003-2004). I mainly worked on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
During my Bachelor’s I nurtured my interest in Design and Design Implementation processes. I represented my college at various inter-university forums. I started experimenting with applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash.
I began publishing some stuff online that I was writing at that time at, 2player.blogspot.com. In 2003 I was selected to be a part of the Editorial team for the college magazine. At that time, I was participating in a lot of online forums on photography, sketching, web development etc. I was posting everywhere by the nick maverick_xj.
Music has always been an integral part of the person that I am. I started playing the guitar with a few friends when I was in the first semester. I was fortunate enough to meet people like Satpurkh, Anurag and Akash, and I learned from them and with them. It was then that I started experimenting with computer applications such as Sony ACID Pro, Sony Sound Forge and Fruity Loops. Later on in my 7th semester, I went to Bangalore for my Industrial Internship and joined Scratch DJ School, and trained for 6 months as a DJ under, DJ Swing and DJ Rulz. I also met and became friends with Nantha Gabriel a.k.a. NG, an international rapper whose music I really like.
In December,2004 I got my first SLR camera, a Canon EOS 500N as a gift from my cousin and a very close friend Mandy. I had started exploring photography when I bought my first camera phone, a Nokia 3660, and was moblogging at suppose.textamerica.com. My experiments in photography now found display at maverick-xj.deviantart.com. Before leaving college I put up an exhibition of my photographs in the college in August, 2005.

I’m sorry to say that I don’t think Scratch DJ school is open anymore. However, a friend of mine Dj Rulz whom I met at the Scratch DJ school (one of the founders) runs his own Djing School. You can check the details at http://www.djrulz.com/
Cheers !
i think that this website and its contents are against all kind kind of conventions laid down in the society and hence it should be shut down. If you disagree and dont do it, we shall shut it down ourselves.
You have time to reply back till sun morning 8am GMT+4:30, failing which we shall take action.
So sorry “Tunak Tunak Tun” - I forgot to reply to your mail. I kinda agree with you. Please do go ahead and rid us of this “anti-social” website …
